Moving ahead after the fire, June 2008...
| The fire has damaged our building, so we are going to be holding school at the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club this fall. | |||
| We are busy making plans, replacing equipment and supplies, etc. | |||
About our nursery school...
| We are a community service of Zwingli United Church of Christ. | |||
| We provide a meaningful and enjoyable nursery school experience with special emphasis on physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. | |||
| The program for three-year-olds provides opportunity for the young child to socialize and adjust to a group outside the family. For the four-year-olds we continue to emphasize the importance of getting along with classmates in a cooperative manner. We will expose your child to more developmentally appropriate skills to prepare the child for kindergarten through multi‑sensory hands‑on experiences. | |||
| Each class is staffed with one head teacher with a degree in education and one qualified teaching assistant. Our Director is Beverly Godshall. | |||

School Day | |||
| Our morning sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. | |||
|
The daily schedule includes approximately one hour of free play when children may do various activities such as puzzles, blocks, dolls, books, and learning games. Circle time is a chance to encourage discussion, read stories, and share ideas. Music in the form of singing, tapes/CDs, rhythm instruments, and dancing is another important part of our curriculum. Through our art activities we expose the children to as many different materials as possible to develop their creativity. Outdoor play is a favorite time for the children and an important aspect in the development of large muscle coordination. In addition to our playground equipment, we use tricycles, hula hoops, and balls, and take nature walks in the spring and fall. Our 4-year-old class takes several field trips during the school year.
Bad weather? | |||
